In 2009 Jerry decided to start writing book and pioneered the concept of writing true stories of real heroes. Nelson Mandela said “Karma Kurry stories have the power to inspire people to rise and act, to make a difference”. A chance meeting in 2003, with Dashrath Manjhi – The Mountain Man inspired Jerry to conceptualise and create the Karmaveer Awards to celebrate Real, unsung, uncommon, everyday, ordinary Heroes and also write their stories of extraordinary achievements in the Karma Kurry Book series to inspire people and children around the world to become champions of change.

Jerry signed a 12 crore book deal for the Karma Kurry book series that sold a few million books globally. Karma Kurry books were also nominated for the New York Times & Wall Street Journal’s bestseller listings. Another global Magazine listed Jerry in the 50 most admired global Indians along with Arunima Sinha, Bhaichung Bhutia, Deepa Malik and Kartikeya Sarabhai. Jerry was also the first author in India to be signed up as brand ambassador for Lawrence & Mayo pens & glasses and Typhoo tea.
